Solskjaer: Man United finally got a real test

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said his Manchester United charges were finally tested by Brighton.

Although United cruised to a 2-1 win at Old Trafford to record a seventh win since the Norwegian arrival, Solskjaer was far from being convinced by the performances in front of own fans.

“We were tested. I didn't think we played the game out as we should have. That's perhaps the next challenge for the boys. Sometimes you make it hard work. I thought we played some greats stuff at times. At the start of the second half, we could have finished the game with great chances. The last 20 minutes we were in trouble. You can't always play fantasy football. At times we did and it's a great three points." the manager told BBC Sports.

Solskjaer added that he was very much convinced by Marcus Rashford’s performances that saw the striker score a straight for the goal in as many appearances. His strike to make it two for United came from a tight angle and in a somewhat crowded Brighton’s area.

"What a finish. That was the first thing I said to him when I met him. He had missed some chances and I said 'no problem, you'll be all right, just settle down a little bit'." Solskjaer said in praise of the England 21-year old striker.

Man United will face Arsenal in FA Cup semi-final on Friday.
