Real Madrid interim manager Santiago Solari has ‘sympathised’ with people who’ve apparently just discovered Karim Benzema’s qualities.
As widely witnessed, the 31-year-old striker endured prolonged criticism during the club’s recent poor spell.
Solari made his comments following Los Blancos’ away win over Girona to march into the Copa del Rey semi-finals, a match where the French forward delilvered a brace in the 3-1 win.
"I'm sorry for the people who had missed Benzema for all this time," Solari told journalists at the post-match conference.
"There is still time to discover him, for those who first saw him last week,” he promised.
