Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has issued an apology after he was sent off during his side's 1-0 defeat to BATE Borisov on Thursday night.
The Frenchman will miss the return leg next week at the Emirates in a must-win clash. Lacazette was shown a straight red card in the 85th minute as his side chased for an equalizer for elbowing Aleksandar Filipovic. The former Lyon man admitted that he let his side down with his moment of frustration.
"Letting the team down like that is the worst feeling. I should have stayed calm but it’s not always easy. Sorry. There are still 90 minutes to play and I believe that my teammates will make it to the next round," Lacazette posted on Twitter.
Another controversial red card for another EPL FrenchMan?? Should lacazette have been sent-off? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/U2ifXkOrDN— Football_Revised (@FRevised) February 14, 2019
