Victor Osimhen named in Belgian First Division A Team of the Week

Sporting Charleroi forward Victor Osimhen has been named in the latest Belgian First Division A Team of the Week for the round of matches in the regular season by Voetbalkrant.

Osimhen who is loan from Wolfsburg scored his second goal in three matches as his side went on to win 2-1 over Antwerp on Sunday evening (March 10).

Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi who had made the Team of the Week for six consecutive games was not chosen this time around despite him scoring for Royal Excel Mouscron in the fixture against Sint-Truidense.

In a 3-5-2 formation, Osimhen was partnered in attack by Standard Liege's Renaud Emond.

Imoh Ezekiel (Kortrijk) and Anderson Esiti (Gent) were the other players of Nigerian descent that featured for their respective clubs this past weekend.

Osimhen, who has been called up for international duty next week, has tallied 11 goals (3 assists) in 24 league appearances in the 2018/19 season.
