Klopp: Liverpool not haunted by past failures

Klopp: Liverpool not haunted by past failures

15 Mar 2019, 14:50

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his side is not being haunted by past failures as he is keen to learn from mistakes.

The Reds, who have been drawn to Porto in the Champions League quarters, eliminated Bayern Munich after registering a 3-1 victory. And last season the club was on the verge lifting Europe's elite trophy but lost to Real Madrid in the finals. Despite losing in three consecutive finals, Klopp says he isn't concerned about the past.

“It’s normal that you want to prove things but we don’t wake up in the morning and think we lost in these finals. It’s not important but we try to use it in a positive way and it’s natural you want to make things better," he said.

“The experience we’ve had so far has helped us a lot, it helped us against Bayern. The last five Champions League games we lost is because we didn’t defend like we wanted to but at Munich we did and from this basis, you can win, it’s the experience from last year we get this and it has helped a lot.

“If there is a final at the end good - but we think about that at the end, not now.”

The Reds will take on Fulham on Sunday 17th in a Premier League match.
