Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye has hit out at Jurgen Klopp over broken promise and says he wants to quit the club this summer.

Adekanye, 20, joined the Reds academy from Barcelona four years ago but is yet to make a first-team appearance.

However, Liverpool are keen to offer the winger a new deal with his current contract expiring in the summer.

“I expected that I would get a chance at Liverpool sooner,” he told Voetbal Zone.

“Before I came, we talked about it. They said that if I had a good first season, I had a good chance of joining the first team.

“That (the pre-season tour) didn't happen in the end. That is disappointing and it has helped me not to renew my contract.

“If they promise such things and it doesn't happen, I don't know what will happen if I sign for three years. That confidence is no longer there, even though I still greatly respect the club.”

The Netherlands U20 international has been linked with a move to Lazio.
