Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has challenged midfielders Scott McTominay and Fred to match the same performance the duo achieved against Spanish giants Barcelona.

Despite United suffering a 0-1 defeat in the first leg of Champions League quarterfinals match against Catalans, the duo received praise from former players. Ahead of Premier League encounter with the Hammers, Solskjaer wants the pair to produce the same midweek’s performance.

“Well, that’s the thing. When you get the chance and you take it you can’t say that they didn’t take it. Hopefully, we will see more of that,” Solskjaer told MUTV.

“Let’s see how they are if they can manage Saturday and then Tuesday again. We have got to think about these next games as a little cluster. We’ve looked back and of course, we will analyse it and show the players before the next Barcelona game. The focus now is on the league and we need to focus everything on the games which come up.”

United will take on West Ham United at Old Trafford starting from 7:30 PM EAT.
