SkyBet Championship club Aston Villa is set to join the rapid race to sign Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham if they are to return to the Premier League at the end of the 2018/19 season.
Aston Villa are a game away from achieving the main goal for the season after beating West Brom on penalties in the Championship playoffs seminal on Tuesday.
According to the Sun UK, the Villa Park outfit are reportedly keen on making Abraham's loan deal permanent if he takes them to the top, however, they are facing stiff competition from RB Leipzig who have tabled a £25 million bid for his signature.
The Chelsea loanee has been having an outstanding season at Aston Villa as has become the highest scoring player of Nigerian descent in the top four divisions in England with 25 goals in 37 appearances.
On the other hand, there is a stumbling block that could prevent potential deals which Chelsea being slammed with a two-window transfer ban and could potentially recall Abraham next season.
In the January transfer window, Wolverhampton Wanderers had wanted to sign the Nigerian Federation target, but the youngster preferred to stay at Aston Villa.
