AFC Leopards win best response after Shield exit, says KCB coach
KCB head coach Frank Ouna was delighted after his side bounced back from Shield defeat to Kariobangi Sharks with a 1-0 win over AFC Leopards.
Kennedy Owino scored the only goal for the Bankers in the 1-0 victory and Ouna was impressed with his side’s performance. Coming from a 1-0 defeat in the Sportpesa Shield in the hands of holders Sharks, the KCB boss termed the win as a perfect respond to weekend’s disappointment.
“The win means it is something you really mentally worked on well with the boys. And keeping the 1-0 lead till the final whistle is a very big plus for us,” he said after the match.
“On the negative side, we didn’t create enough chances. We had many chances to get them on the counter but somehow we didn’t take them.”
“I would say this was the best response after the Shield loss to Kariobangi Sharks. If you watched the match there were no clear chances for either side and it could have been a draw. I was disappointed for losing in the manner we lost. The boys have reacted and we have a chance of revenging against Sharks over the weekend.”
KCB will square it out with Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 18th at MISC, Kasarani in a Kenyan Premier League match.
