Gor Mahia out to lift KPL crown as Mathare host Bandari

Gor Mahia will be looking to bag the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title when they host Vihiga United at the Kenyatta Stadium-Machakos on Wednesday 22 May.

With three games left to the completion of the league, a win against a struggling Vihiga would see them amass 72 points with their close challengers Bandari FC eight points behind.

A loss on Wednesday may prove detrimental for Vihiga United who are second last on the log with 25 points with the Sammy Omollo side hoping that both Zoo Kericho and Chemelil Sugar drop points in week 34 to give them hope heading into the last two games.

Mathare United

On the same day, Mathare United will be hosting Bandari FC in a battle of chasers. Both teams have been billed to give Gor Mahia a run for their money at the start of the league but they all faded in between the season.

In the battle of relegation, with Mount Kenya already booking their place in the National Super League (NSL) next season, the duel is left for Vihiga, Zoo and Chemelil FC; the latter being up against Sofapaka on Wednesday with Zoo entertaining Tusker on Thursday.
