Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Lobi Stars has denied reports about the cause of coach Solomon Ogbeide's death.
Reports making the round say Ogbeide slumped and died during the team's training on Monday morning ahead of their MatchDay 21 NPFL game against Wikki Tourist.
Denying the report, Lobi Stars in a statement say... "Coach Ogbeide died (20/5/2019) at a private hospital in Makurdi following complications emanating from heart and other multiple organs failure".
The management further condemns, in strong terms, the fake news going round that the Coach slumped and died. We urged the general public to disregard this fake news in its totality." It added.
Lobi Stars say it is consulting with the family of the deceased for all necessary arrangements to give the famous Edo-born Coach a befitting burial. Details of the arrangement will be out soon.
Coach Solomon Ogbeide joined Lobi Stars FC in 2017 where he guided the team to win the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League.
Similarly, he won the Super Cup with the team last year and successfully led them up to the group stage of the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League thereby restoring the second slot that Nigeria
lost before then.
