Vihiga United head coach has hailed his side after the club came from behind to claim a point against Kenyan Premier League Champions Gor Mahia on Wednesday 22nd.
Charles Saramu Momanyi put the Green Army ahead in the first half after Hassan Oktay's men dominated the match in the opening minutes. However, Amos Kigadi leveled the scores for Vihiga in the second half through a header after a well-delivered freekick inside the box. Okoth's men held on to claim a point but the draw was enough to hand Gor Mahia 18th title with two games to spare. The tactician was happy with the performance though he believes three points could have been better for his side.
"I think we played well and I am glad that we picked a point though if we could have picked all three points it could have been better. We have two more matches remaining, we will go back to the drawing as see how it goes," said Okoth after the match.
On Amos Kigadi equalizer
"It was a good goal and I wish we did the same in the past matches against big teams it could have been better. We won’t give up, we will continue training until the end of the season."
On remaining matches
"The plan is to maintain and stick to our game, the style of play we had against Gor Mahia and do it better. I believe that the upcoming matches won’t be hard for us."
