Olivier Giroud might have angered some Arsenal fans, after he mocked the team following Chelsea's 4-1 win in the Europa League final in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman scored the opening goal for the Blues three minutes after the restart with a clinical header, to set his side to a sweet win against rivals Arsenal.
In a video shared by teammate Jorginho on his Instagram account, Giroud is seen and heard saying "Thank you, Arsenal!’
He, however, said that he did not want to celebrate scoring against the Gunners since they played a big role in shaping him into the player he is today.
"I didn’t want to celebrate against Arsenal but I am so proud to win this trophy with Chelsea," he said after the match.
Giroud has been in phenomenal form this season, bagging 11 goals in the Europa League in one of his best seasons in Europe.
He was rewarded for his efforts with a one-year contract extension with Chelsea and will be ready for another season at Stamford Bridge.
