Pedrinho is currently with Brazil's under-22 side at the Toulon tournament in France but Barcelona is keeping tabs on the forward.
The 21-year-old plies his trade for Corinthians in Brazil's Serie A, and Sport claims this isn't the first time that Barcelona has alerted their interest with their extensive South American scouting network keeping tabs on him for some time.
There are no concerns about Pedrinho's technical quality at both club and international level, but Barcelona's major reservation lies in the fact that the player might not be physically ready for such a demanding league. This reservation is understandably the major stumbling block between Barcelona's firm interest and a concrete offer.
Corinthians is expected to slap a large asking price on the talented forward's head, and we shall see if that deters Barcelona from making a formal offer.
Barcelona is infamous for its history of signing attacking South American players and seeing them flourish at the Camp Nou. Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Diego Maradona and now Luis Suarez & Lionel Messi are just a handful of legendary South Americans to have donned the famous Blaugrana blue & garnet stripes.
We will keep an eye on Pedrinho and any other transfer rumours involving Barcelona in what is expected to be a busy summer at Camp Nou.
