With Harambee Stars, head coach Sebastien Migne naming his squad for the upcoming 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, Futaa looks at the profiles of the players who will represent Kenya in the continental showpiece.
Francis Kahata Nyambura
DOB: May 4, 1992
Current Club: Gor Mahia FC, Kenya
Previous Clubs: KF Tirana (Albania), Thika United (Kenya), University of Pretoria (South Africa)
Kahata arrives in AFCON as one of the creative forces in the Harambee Stars squad. Apart from being a good midfielder, the Gor Mahia player can operate on the wings but with the return of Ayub Timbe in the squad, a place on his preferred number 10 role is a likely possibility.
This is another player whose contract with his club comes to a close at the end of June and sees this as an opportunity to show his potential suitors what he can do with the ball.
Stints away from home make him one of the most experienced players in the team and the issue of stage fright shouldn’t be something that is found in his vocabulary. Furthermore, he is just from representing his club in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederations Cup.
