Sanchez on Manchester United nightmare after ending goal drought
Alexis Sanchez opened up on Manchester United struggles after he scored his first goal since January during Chile’s 4-0 win over Japan in the Copa America.
The match was special for the former Arsenal man who got his name on the score sheet in the victory over the Asian giants. Despite being the Red Devils' highest-paid player, the last time the Chilean scored for his current employers was against his former club Arsenal in their January 25 FA Cup showdown. After the victory over the Samurai Blue, the 30-year-old opened up about that experience.
“For six weeks I felt worse than I ever have before," said Sanchez after the game.
“I struggled in the first half as I felt stifled but in the second half I was more relaxed and played with more freedom and excitement.”
According to reports, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to release the Chile international in this summer transfer due to his high wages.
