Aston Villa striker gave Ivory Coast a win after beating South Africa’s Ronwen Willliams in the 65th minute in this evening’s AFCON 2019 Group D game.

Bafana’s best chance of the game came in the 25th minute when captain Thulani Hlatshwayo did well to win a head but his ball went narrowly high.

The two sides went into halftime tied at 0-0, most thankfully to Bafana’s Williams who made an incredible save to keep out Kodjia’s strike around the half-hour mark. Ivory Coast star player Nicolas Pepe also came itches close after his finely struck free-kick hit the crossbar.

Pepe nearly scored another free kick midway through the second half but his shot was met with another Williams incredible save.

The South Africans thought they had won a penalty when substitute Lars Veldwijk was brought down after trying to head in a cross from Percy Tau.
