Premier League side Chelsea have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over the permanent transfer of Mateo Kovacic.
Kovacic spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid and as reported by Sky Sports, both clubs have reached an agreement. Despite Chelsea's transfer ban, midfielder Kovacic can sign because he is registered with the club following his loan spell last season - and the deal included a clause allowing for a permanent move.
The Blues have now agreed terms with Kovacic's parent club to ensure he remains at the club beyond his present loan agreement. Kovacic was well used by Maurizio Sarri, making 51 appearances as the club secured qualification for the Champions League with a third-place finish in the Premier League and then triumphed over Arsenal in the Europa League final.
