Tanguy Ndombele has joined Premier League side Tottenham for a club-record fee on a five-year deal with an option for a further year.
Ndombele joins Spurs for an initial fee of £55m with £10m of potential add-ons. The fee eclipses the £42m Spurs paid Ajax for defender Davinson Sanchez two years ago. The 22-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe becomes one of Tottenham's highest earners after signing a £200,000-a-week deal.
Ndombele who made 34 appearances for Lyon last season, netting once while providing seven assists is as a replacement for Spurs’ once-influential ex-player Mousa Dembele, who moved to Chinese club Guangzhou R&F in January.
