Premier League champions Manchester City have announced the signing of midfielder Rodrigo Hernández Cascante from Atletico Madrid for a club-record of £62.8million.
The Spaniard becomes the second summer signing for the Citizens after Angelino rejoined the club on Wednesday.
“What City have achieved in the last two years has been amazing and I’m looking forward to being part of such a talented squad,” he told the club's official website.
“It’s not just the titles they have won, but the way they have managed it, playing attacking football at all times. It’s a style that excites me, as do the Club’s ambitions. I can’t wait to start working with Pep Guardiola and my new team-mates and hopefully we can achieve great things together.”
The 23-year-old, who joined Atleti from Villarreal for £21.5m last summer, had been on City's radar for the past couple of transfer windows as they searched for a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
He will wear jersey number 16.
