Arsenal interested in Real Madrid's Marcelo

English Premier League side Arsenal is said to be interested in the services of Real Madrid left-back Marcelo this as reported by Sportspmail.

It is reported that the Brazilian left-back asked to leave Real Madrid with the 31-year-old has been at the Bernabeu for 13 seasons, winning four La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.

Marcelo struggled with form and injuries last year and is no longer guaranteed a starting role in the team with Zinedine Zidane's having acquired the services of Ferland Mendy from Lyon in a £47m deal.

He has asked to leave the club having received lucrative offers from around Europe, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Arsenal is among those interested but faces strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and AC Milan.

He is now believed to be considering his options with his representatives in talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Marcelo is enjoying a break ahead of pre-season after he was dropped from Brazil's Copa America squad by manager Tite.

His compatriots face Peru in the final this weekend.
