2009 Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka will have to do without the services of striker Stephen Waruru in the 2019/20 season.
Waruru in a Facebook post noted that his two years journey with the club was coming to an end and thanked the team for the love they showed him during his stay.
The post noted: “I want to take this opportunity to thank Sofapaka family from the president (Elly Kalekwa), the technical bench, pastors and the players for the nice stay I've had during my time.
“As a player and captain, you really showered me with a lot of love and it’s my time to move on and face new challenges elsewhere, may God bless you and forever we remain a family.
“#22 Stephen Waruru.”
Waruru joined Sofapaka in December 2017 from Ulinzi Stars at a time when he was accused of double signing after a section of the media reported that he had inked a deal with Tusker FC too.
His departure at the club leaves coach John Baraza short of options with the team having lost Pistone Mutamba to Wazito FC.
