With the new English Premier League season less than three weeks away, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has revealed how manager, Frank Lampard wants the team to play.
With Eden Hazard gone and Chelsea unable to make any new signings, bar Mateo Kovacic, who was already registered as a result of his season-long loan deal last year, the Blues will be adopting a new style of play. Lampard's side has been unimpressive in pre-season so far picking up a draw against Bohemians and losing to Kawasaki Frontale while beating St. Patrick's.
Alonso revealed how Lampard wants his side to play ahead of next season, "The first few sessions have been going very well. I feel very good playing the way the manager wants with high intensity, trying to keep the ball, moving the ball side to side and giving freedom for the full-backs to attack."
Chelsea kick-off the season against Manchester United on Sunday 11th August at Old Trafford.
