Facts about Ashanti Gold new coach Ricardo Da Rocha

As excitedly announced by AshGold on Wednesday, Ricardo Rocha has arrived in Obuasi to lead the Miners. Futaa looks at who exactly is the 54-year-old…

Though many Ashanti followers were still getting to know Kjetil Zachariassen before his shock move to Asante Kotoko, it is now time to get to know the new South America tactician.

Born in the Brazil capital and football mecca to some, Sao Paulo, Rocha is not entirely new in the land of Ghana. Many of us may still remember him having a stint in the Ghana Premier League with none other than Ebusua Dwarfs between 2016-17. So what happened at Dwarfs? Well, the Brazilian simply made a good name of himself by taking the struggling side to finish fifth before turning down an offer to renew his deal.

All former clubs:

  • Ebusua Dwarfs FC
  • Cape Verde national team
  • Rangers Talca (Chile)
  • Camboriú-SC (Brazil)
  • Mixto (Brazil)
  • Velo Clube-SP (Brazil)
  • Goiânia Esporte Clube (GO) (Brazil)

Honours: None.

Will the Brazilian win his first silverware as a manager and bring home AshGold’s first Ghana Premier League since 2015?
