Arsenal coach Unai Emery has indicated the club is willing to spend in the current summer transfer window. as they strengthen for the new 2019/20 season.
The Gunners have so far completed the signing of William Saliba and Dani Ceballos from St. Etienne and Real Madrid respectively, but continue to be linked with a host of other players.
Lille winger Nicolas Pepe is said to be close to joining the London-based club, who continue to be linked with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.
The coach has however revealed that they might go out to strengthen in key areas, among them the defense, midfield and the wings.
"We are deciding how we can improve. At the beginning we were thinking to do one player to achieve the possibility to sign, but only if we can really, really improve this position. It’s one center-back, one midfielder and one winger and we are going to (try) to do that," he said after their Emirates match against Lyon.
"We are thinking the same. I want a team that is better than last year, so the players can achieve a lot being with us this season. Also, we have a very good team. Only the players that can improve and help the squad [will be brought in]," he added.
The team is expected to push through for Celtic's Kieran Tierney despite having two initial bids knocked back by the Scottish side.
Emery's boys will open their Premier League campaign on August 11 against Newcastle United.
