Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has said his first words after signing for FC Brugge in Belgium.
As reported on Futaa, Tau became a Brugge player this morning to complete a loan switch from Brighton & Albion.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward makes the move after 11 goals and 13 assists for RUGS in the lower division last season.
“I think the expectations are a bit higher, and I’m just proud to be a part of those expectations,” said Tau, as he reflected on the club’s social platform upon his arrival,” Tau said via Brugge’s social media.
“And hopefully we’ll get to win some silverware, because I think winning plays a big role at this club.”
“I think the jersey looks beautiful. For sure, I like black because that’s one of my favourite colours that I enjoy wearing, but also the blue looks nice,” he added.
The Witbank-born Tau also revealed that he will allow his mother to choose the jersey number he will soon take at his new club.
“Most of the numbers are taken, so I will just think of a number that plays a big role either to me or my family, but I think my Mum has to choose this one – she’ll choose a number,” said the 25-year-old.
