Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has let out that Percy Tau was wanted in La Liga & Ligue 1.
Mosimane, who is recognized as the man who discovered and polished Tau at Sundowns, has said he had received calls out of Spain & France before Tau signed for Belgium’s Club Brugge this week.
“Club Brugge is a good club," Mosimane said via sport24.
"They had their success and they remain a big club. At the moment it’s Anderlecht conquering that space. Of course, it’s better than where he was.”
Mosimane went on to say that Tau’s new club will serve as a springboard for bigger things for the 25-year-old attacker from Witbank.
"When he plays well at Club Brugge, he will be able to move to other countries. But I think he had the ability to go to a bigger country.”
"I had the people calling me to say the boy should come to La Liga and Ligue 1, seriously. Look I don’t want to say anything because he has people guiding him. I’ve done my work with Percy, I’m done.”
"He comes to me for advice and to bounce off anything, but I did my work with him and the door is open. I’m happy he is going to a better team. But I’ll always say he could do better,” concluded Mosimane.
Meanwhile, Tau was this week thrust straight into Brugge’s squad to face Sint-Truiden this evening.
