Matthew Olosunde makes senior debut for Rotherham United

Former Manchester United player Matthew Olosunde made his senior debut for Rotherham United as they went on to secure a 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, August 3.

Olosunde wore jersey number 22 and the defender was one of three Nigeria-eligible players named in the starting line-up of the Millers by manager Paul Warne, the others being Freddie Ladapo and Michael Ihiekwe.

The Nigeria-eligible defender was officially released from Manchester United's books on June 30 and has managed to impress his new side.

Rotherham United had their first chance to open the scoring in the fourth minute when Olosunde teed up Clark Robertson 25 yards from goal but his effort went wide.

The 21-year-old created another chance in the 27th minute but the goalkeeper saved the shot taken by Matt Crooks.

Whilst at Manchester United, Olosunde was named on provisional rosters for Premier League games against Arsenal and Tottenham but didn't make the 18 for both games during the 2016/17 season.
