Fulham sign Bournemouth's Harry Arter on season-long loan

Championship side Fulham have officially acquired Republic of Ireland international Harry Arter on a season-long loan deal as reported by Extra Time.

The 29-year-old who is contracted to Bournemouth was shipped out to Cardiff City on loan but the latter were relegated from the Premier League - which was to lead to a frustrating time for the Irishman.

According to Extra Time reports, if Arter manages on his new loan deal then it will be guaranteed that Fulham will buy him in the following summer transfer window.

Arter spoke about signing for the side and what he hopes to achieve as the 2019/20 season progresses - in hopes that he will help The Cottagers fight to make their way back to topflight football.

“I’m delighted to be here. Fulham is a fantastic club with a lot of ambition who want to get back to the Premier League, and I hope I can help them achieve that this season.”

Fulham chairman Tony Khan also added his thought on the capture of Arter and what it means for the club as a unit.

“Harry Arter’s arrival at Fulham Football Club will strengthen our midfield and gives us another experienced and proven player who’s contributed to his former club’s promotion from the Championship," Khan said.

“Harry’s a great fit for our squad, and we believe he’ll help us achieve our main objective, a return to the Premier League. Come on Fulham!”

Fulham will have to work on a winning strategy for their next game having suffered their first defeat in the 2019/20 campaign after they were sunk by Barnsley.

The Cottagers manager Scott Parker is set to hand Arter his maiden debut when the former take on Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage on Saturday, August 10.
