Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Alisson Becker’s calf injury ‘doesn’t look too good.’
The Liverpool shot-stopper limped out of Liverpool’s 4-1 win over newly-promoted side Norwich City on Friday night. Alisson slipped while taking a goal kick in the first half and was immediately attended to by club’s physio. However, he could not continue with the match and was forced off an injury which concerns Klopp that his first choice keeper could be sidelined for some time.
“The Ali situation is a shadow on that game, it’s clear,” he told Sky Sports after the match.
“He thought something hit him in the calf, which is never a good sign. He thought that that’s not what happened, but that’s how it felt, so that’s not a good sign. That means it’s probably a bit more than a strain, we have to see, we make the diagnosis in the morning, we don’t know exactly, but it doesn’t look too good.”
The former Borussia Dortmund boss also confirmed that Alisson will not be playing against Chelsea in the European Super Cup on Wednesday in Istanbul.
