Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri, after their performance against Liverpool on Wednesday night in the Super Cup final.
The pair put in brilliant performances against the Reds, and despite losing in the penalty shootout, the coach was proud of his players and the team at large.
Jorginho was brilliant in midfield alongside N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, while Emerson was key on the left-wing as he troubled the Liverpool backline from time to time.
The coach further hailed their leadership qualities, as the Blues put in an assured performance after the 4-0 humiliating defeat at Manchester United on Sunday.
"Well one of my players obviously," Lampard responded to the question on who was his best player of the night.
"It’s a difficult one I think. I loved the performance of Jorginho for us and I loved the performance of Emerson, I thought they were both fantastic,"
"And when you think of 120 minutes for two players who played on Sunday evening, so Liverpool were fresher than us, I thought they were leaders in the team,"
"But I liked the performance of all of my players. Not one player was below par today. Everyone gave everything, the subs made an impact. So all, all of them,"
Chelsea was the better side throughout the match in Turkey and took a deserved lead in the first half through Olivier Giroud before Sadio Mane equalized in the second half for Liverpool.
The Senegal international then gave the Reds the lead in extra time, before Jorginho pulled his side level from the spot to send the match into extra time.
