Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reckons midfielder Fred can have a big season as part of club’s ‘midfield foundation’.
The Brazilian joined United from Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported fee of £52million but only started 20 matches and tallied one goal in a fraught season. The 26-year-old was omitted from the match squad against Chelsea last weekend where his side registered a 4-0 win.
"Your team will always play better if settled and have a good foundation and not conceding goals. Good teams, I played in, we always had a strong base, a keeper settled backline and we hope to provide that for our attackers and midfielders,” he said.
"We believe Fred is going to have a big season as well."
