Sadio Mane proving he'll be Liverpool's main man once again

Sadio Mane has begun his fourth season at Liverpool where he left at the end of the third; top.

The Senegal international has been at the top of his game for the three seasons he has played at Anfield, and despite the presence of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, he continues to be the highlight of the Liverpool side.

The Reds put came to within a touching distance of the English Premier League title last season, but lost on the thinnest of margins to end up second behind Manchester City.

Main man last season

In a season where the Liverpool fans expected their main man Mohamed Salah to star, it was the Senegalese who literally carried the team to a second-place finish.

Apart from the general play for the club, the 'ever-smiling assassin' had something to show of his effort, taking home the Golden Boot alongside Salah and Aubameyang

In the Champions League, the striker was a the heart of all Liverpool victories as they lifted the continent's biggest club prize.

Mane has been integral to the team, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. He always offers the team a unique dimension and options when playing alongside Firmino and Salah.

He has once again demonstrated he will be key for the Reds this season.

Starts season with a bang!

He reported late to camp having been accorded extra days following his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he led his team to the finals.

He was introduced as a second-half substitute against Norwich, and even though he did not score he got off to his usual runs cutting in from his favourite wing.

In the midweek Uefa Super Cup finals against Chelsea, he struck a double, the second one a beautiful strike and led the lines well, combining perfectly with Firmino.

He followed up his brace with another sumptuous strike on Saturday against Southampton at the St. Mary's and assisted Firmino's winner.

The Reds were unconvincing in the match, but in Mane, they have a match-winner and a game-changer.

Liverpool are once again expected to battle on all fronts this season, and if they are to lift any major silverware, Mane will definitely be in the heart of it.

They next host Arsenal in the Premier League, and it will be another opportunity for Mane to do what he does best and add to his tally.
