Serie A club Hellas Verona are currently targeting Ghana international Afriyie Acquah as an emergency signing to possibly replace Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
Acquah is a free agent at the minute after his contract at Torino expired at the end of the 2018/19 season.
Badu is currently in hospital in Italy after blood clots were discovered in his lungs which led to being diagnosed with pulmonary embolism.
Acquah has been identified as the like-for-like replacement for his countryman who joined this summer transfer window on loan from Udinese with an option to buy.
Last season, Acquah was on loan at Empoli where he made 28 league appearances and scored two goals for the relegated side.
