The Sports Journalist Association of Kenya awarded the best performers of the Kenyan Premier League in the 2018/19 season in a gala held at the Kenya National Museums on Monday 19 August.
The biggest winner of the night was Gor Mahia's Joash Onyango who waded off the challenge of Ulinzi Stars' Enosh Ochieng and Simba SC midfielder Francis Kahata to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award; the player also walking home with the best defender award.
The MVP accolade came with Ksh 1M with all the category winners walking home with Ksh250,000; this seeing Joash walking home with Ksh 1.25M.
The1st runners-up pocketed Ksh150,000 and a fridge while 2nd runners-up received Ksh100,000 and microwave. The President's award that came along with Ksh100,000 went to experienced Tusker FC and Harambee Stars' Dr Wilson Makanga.
