Kenya's Harambee Stars will be taking on neighbours Uganda and Libya in friendlies in September and October respectively in what will be coach Francis Kimanzi's first assignments in charge of the team.
Confirming the developments was Football Kenya Federation boss Nick Mwendwa on Tuesday as he unveiled a new look Stars technical bench fully composed of local.
Kenya will host Uganda on September 8, 2019, in Nairobi before travelling to Libya to take the hosts in October with the date of the second friendly expected to be communicated in due time.
Meanwhile, new Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has admitted that his main task will be to ensure that the national team make it to the 2021 AFCON after being part of the coaching unit that took the team to the 2019 edition hosted in Egypt.
"We laid a good foundation with our former coach, qualifying for AFCON for the first time in 15 years. This is a continuation of the good job we did and we are looking forward to accomplishing our biggest challenge of getting the team back to AFCON 2021,” Kimanzi is quoted by FKF website.
Kimanzi will be assisted by KCB FC head coach Zedekiah Otieno, with Lawrence Webo being the keeper trainer and Enos Karani being the fitness trainer.
