Ahmed Elmohamady extends his contract with Aston Villa

​Aston Villa have officially announced on their official website that Ahmed Elmohamady has signed a one-year contract extension with the Premier League club. 

Elmohamady joined Villa during the summer of 2017 from Hull City for an undisclosed fee - at the time Steve Bruce was at the helm of the Villans.

The Egyptian international made approximately 40 appearances in the 2018/19 season and was heavily involved in the Villans Play-Off final - he provided scored two goals and provided the assist for Anwar El Ghazi's opening cracker. 

The 31-year-old who also played for Sunderland featured in the starting XI for both of Villa's season openers and which they have suffered successive defeats.
