Chelsea manager Frank Lampard's Premier League campaign is set to receive a major boost, with Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi set to return from long-term injuries.
Lampard's start to his managerial career has not been all rosy, but the return of the key players will give his side a much-needed boost.
Rudiger, in particular, has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks and played for 90 minutes during a U-23 match between Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Norwich match will, however, come too soon for the German international, but will be in line for a start after the international break.
Odoi, on the other hand, has joined the team in full training, and same as the German, will make a return to the fold after the break.
"Rudiger is not fit yet, hopefully not next week," Lampard said during his pre-match press conference.
"Callum’s training, he’s looking bright and sharp, but we are in the zone where it’s about protecting him and getting condition and fitness, particularly with his injury. He’s had quite a long time out. Same with Rudiger slightly. We have to be careful,"
‘The international break comes at a good time for us with both those and Reece James,"
Chelsea will head to Carrow Road on Saturday to face the new-promoted side and will hope they pick their first victory of the new campaign.
