Gor Mahia will begin their Kenyan Premier League title defence against Tusker FC at the Moi Stadium-Kisumu on Saturday 31 August.
The match had earlier been scheduled to take place at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos but the urge of Gor Mahia playing in front of their Kisumu fans has proved too much to ignore.
The changes mean that the clash between league newbies Kisumu All-Stars and Ulinzi Stars will start at 2 pm with the Gor Mahia one coming at 4:15 pm according to information from the club social media handles.
Gor has had a brilliant start to the season with the Steve Pollack side making it to the first round of the CAF Champions League after overcoming Burundi’s Aigle Noir with a 5-1 aggregate score in the preliminary stage.
A few Players
After having a few players for their Aigle clash. Gor will welcome back a chunk of their players for the league opener; the team expected to miss the services of defender Shafiq Batambuze who pulled out of the Aigle clash due to an injury.
Tusker, on the other hand, will hope that they can match their opponents this despite having an interrupted preseason where their visit to Tanzania was cut short due to unavailability of teams.
