Gor Mahia defender Wellington Ochieng has warned his teammates against undermining Tusker FC ahead of their league opener slated for Moi Stadium-Kisumu on Saturday 31 August.
Ochieng while speaking with Futaa the former Muhoroni Youth defender admitted it I going to be a tough match but believes the tactics being put in place by head coach Steve Pollack will help them carry the day.
“It is the first game of the season and you never know how an opponent might turn up. We have prepared well on our side but as you know they (Tusker FC) have roped in some good players and we cant undermine them.
“It's going to be a tough match but I am positive that we will do everything right as per the coach’s plan in that game,” Ochieng said.
Asked about his personal targets in the coming season, the defender intimated that his was to help the team bag titles in the competitions they will be in.
“I'm here to help the team first. All we want is to win the titles in the competitions we will be in this season because when the team wins I win too,” Ochieng added.
The game against Tusker will Kick off at 4:15 pm.
