Uganda utility man Godfrey Walusimbi has completed a move to Albania top-flight side KF Vllaznia on a one-year deal.
Vllaznia in a post on their official Facebook page noted: “Shkodër has also signed defender Walusimbi Godfrey.
“The defender has signed a one-year deal and he is expected to arrive in Shkodra within this week as soon as his Albania VISA is sorted. The 30-Year-old has a long and successful career over the past ten years and has been a part of the Uganda national team where he has played 93 Match and scored three goals.
“With his experience, Godfrey is expected to be an important element for the Vllaznisë team in the defence department.”
Clubless since January
Walusimbi has been clubless since falling out with South Africa giants Kaizer Chiefs in January this year with the player saying that the club wanted to loan him to an unnamed club against his wishes; Uganda carrying him to the 2019 AFCON despite being without a club.
Walusimbi who previously featured for Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League joins Shkoder when they are placed seventh in the 10-team league and will hope he can make his debut for the side when they take on Teuta Durres in their next league game.
The player had been omitted from the Uganda Cranes squad that will be taking on Kenya’s Harambee Stars in a friendly clash this weekend.
