Chelsea defender set to move to Fulham on permanent deal

Chelsea have confirmed that Michael Hector will join Fulham on a permanent deal, with the transfer set to be completed in the next window.

The defender, who spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, will train with Fulham, ahead of the January move.

The 27-year-old signed for Chelsea from Reading in September 2015 after starting his youth career at Millwall, and was immediately loaned back to Reading.

He then moved to Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2016/17, before making 39 appearances for Wednesday last season.

The Jamaican international, who has featured in the Copa America and Gold Cup was an integral part of Sheffield Wednesday and enjoyed a decent campaign.

There however seems no place for him under Frank Lampard, who has tens of defenders to at his service, with the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Reece James, Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen.

Good luck down the road, @Big_Hec35! 👊 https://t.co/ml9V7HnuWB
