FC Platinum coach of Norman Mapeza says the weak depth of his squad has not helped the club’s poor run of form.

Mapeza says that missing about 10 players due to injury and suspensions does not actually allow him to celebrate the 2-0 win over Herentals to return to the top of the table.

Last weekend's win came after two winless games where the champions drew 1-1 with Hwange and lost 3- 2 to Chicken Inn.

A frustrated Mapeza told journalists that it should be very clear to see that his side is a depleted squad that does not strike any confidence to find success this season

“We don’t have depth at all, if you guys can’t see that, then well I don’t know. We have to work and see how the season progresses,” Mapeza said via Soccer24.

“It was about results today. We were missing about ten of our regular players through injuries, suspensions and national team duties,” he added.

The Platinum Boys next take care of CAF Champions League duties at home to Mozambican side UD Songo this Saturday. The game will be followed by the return leg in Songo on September 28.
