Diego Costa has revealed Antoine Griezmann's move to Barcelona was fueled by the Frenchman's desire to play with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Costa and Griezmann were teammates for two years at Madrid before the former Real Sociedad forward joined Barcelona who bought out his contract for €120m. Griezmann is yet to play with Lionel Messi after the Argentine picked up an injury and has only played a single game with Luis Suarez who sustained an injury in the season opener.
In an interview with Que Partidazo, Costa revealed why Griezmann left Atletico, "Griezmann’s dream was to play with [Lionel] Messi and [Luis] Suárez. As a footballer, you always want to test yourself and it is normal that he’d want to play there.
"He wants to see if he can be an important player there like he was at Atléti. We can’t say anything bad about him for that."
