Tammy Abraham the hattrick hero as Chelsea smash Wolves

Chelsea smashed Wolverhampton 5-2 at Molineux Stadium in a Premier League encounter on Saturday 14th.

Tammy Abraham grabbed a hat-trick with a sensational Fikayo Tomori goal and late Mason Mount strike adding the others. Abraham took the unwanted own-goal plaudits for Wolves' first before Patrick Cutrone added another, but Chelsea were too strong on the day.

Tomori goal

Chelsea took the lead in the 31st minute through youngster Fikayo Tomori, a goal he will always remember. The Blues had started to get on top and had a corner - although it didn't quite go as well as they would have wanted.  Jonny's attempted clearance raced out to meet Tomori at the top of the area and he curled a sensational strike into the far corner.

Abraham goal

Three minutes later, Chelsea doubled their lead with another wonderful goal from Tammy Abraham. It was Tomori who was involved again as he initially fed Mount into the area. However, the latter went down after apparent contact from Coady, with shouts for a penalty, but referee Graham Scott let the play continue. It was ultimately a good decision too as the bouncing ball landed for Abraham who took a touch and stroke home on the turn, showing some wonderful skill as the ball beat Patricio once again.

Abraham brace

Tammy added his second of the game, a double in a third successive Premier League, third goal for Chelsea. Vallejo initially cleared from inside the area, but it landed to Alonso right at the top of the left corner. He lifted his head and spotted Abraham in the middle and curled the ball into the area. Abraham showed some superb positioning as he just got a shoulder ahead of his marker Coady, before getting up and nodding the ball into the back of the net.

Hattrick

And Abraham completes his hatrick of the evening, full of confidence he made it 4-0 for Chelsea. He got a long pass from Jorginho under control with Coady putting the pressure on. As with his second, he managed to get away from the defender before dinking past him with some sensational skill.

Own goal

Wolves pulled one from a corner, and it was an own goal from the hattrick hero Abraham. Saiss headed Moutinho's delivery goalwards. It slipped through the hands of Kepa on the way through and grazed the arm of Abraham on the line, and he took the unwanted plaudits of an own-goal to go with his hat-trick.

Cutrone goal

After a superb display from Cutrone, he finally wrote his name in the scoresheet. With Doherty's initial thunderous effort being saved by Kepa at close range, he palms the shot away though and Cutrone is lurking in the six-yard box to volley it home.  But VAR was checking for offside against Doherty and it was counted.

Mason goal

And just in the stoppage time, there was another nice finish as Mount rounded off the victory late in the game. It was a cheeky, no-look pass from Batshuyai that sent Mount away down the left-hand side. He then did well to set himself up and curled his effort around Vallejo to make it five for Chelsea.
