Zambia National team striker Fashion Sakala was on target in Belgium but his goal was not enough as KV Oostende suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Standard Liège.
Maxime Lestienne put Liège in the lead in the 21st minute sending his close-range strike into the roof of the net. Sakala, however, leveled matters ten minutes later heading home a Bataille pass.
In the second Stanza Liège took over the game and started running riot. Samuel Bastien put the visitors in the lead nine minutes into the second half after benefiting from an M'Poku Ebunge pass.
Lestienne added a third in the 67th minute before Gojko Cimirot could complete the 4-1 demolition of Oostende. Midfielder Emmanuel Banda was an unused substitute.
The defeat was the KustBoys third of the season. Oostende are 9tg on the log while Liège moves to the summit of the table.
