Tammy Abraham was the hero of the day for Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, as he led the to a stunning win over Wolves in an English Premier League match.
The youngster scored a stunning hat-trick in a 5-2 win at Molineux to ascend to the top of the League’s scoring charts on seven goals, after braces against Norwich and Sheffield United.
With his hattrick, he became the youngest Chelsea player to achieve such fete, aged only 21 years and 347 days old.
Abraham, however, set another unwanted record, becoming the first and only player in the League’s history to hit a hattrick and score an own goal.
With the Blues comfortably leading 4-0, Abraham found himself near the post at the wrong time, with the ball bouncing off him into the net after keeper Arrizabalaga had made a save.
Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for Chelsea with a rocket shot 35 yards out before Abraham took the stage with his hattrick, and Mason Mount continued with his good run to tuck in a fifth deep into injury time.
The win saw Chelsea scale up the standings to sixth on eight points, though that might change depending on results from both Arsenal and Everton’s matches.
The two sides are on seven points and play on Sunday evening.
