Anything is possible - Chiyangi

Green Eagles boss Aggrey Chiyangi is not throwing in the towel just yet as he believes his team can turn the tables around away in Angola.

The Kawale Boys were handed a two-one defeat at home on Saturday but Chiyangi feels anything can happen in football if his team can go to Luanda and play their lungs out. He is also alive to the fact that there might be mind games by the home team so he wants to prepare his side mentally.

"Yes it will be an uphill battle but again like I said in Football anything can happen but we have to go and play our lungs out. We have to prepare and make sure the players are mentally strong because we know there might intimidation but football is football anything can happen," he said.

"It was a very tough game. Like I said playing against Agosto was going to be tough because of the experience they have and that's what made a difference in today's game. We have lost yes but if you look at the goals that we conceded it's like we just gave them. If our defenders reacted in the right way, The could have not scored those two goals. We had two lapses and they took advantage because when you have experienced players they never mess up when they have chances," he added.

Chiyangi feels his team started the match poorly with no aggression and only improved in the second half.

"I think in the first half we did not start the way we were supposed to start, there was no aggression. At half time we tried to encourage them and we saw a different side in the second half. Generally the first half was not good for us but the second half was much better. I think it's all about experience and those are simple mistakes we can work on, " he said.

"This is football it's a competition you never know maybe even them they play well when they travel and not when playing at home. Even as the pressure won't be so much away. We just have to work hard, We have seen how they play and their key players we have seen it all depends on how we apply ourselves when we go to Angola," he added.

The Choma outfit travels to Angola in two weeks time for the second leg. The winner over the two legs will qualify to the CAF Champions League group stage while the loser will drop to the CAF Confederation Cup.
