Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) scout Victor Agali has said he is keeping a close watch at Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi for a possible switch to the Super Eagles.
Awoniyi, who is currently on loan at Mainz, has played for Nigeria's U17, U20 and U23 teams.
Though the 22-year-old has not enjoyed better playing time at the German outfit, Agali said he is being monitored.
“Awoniyi has great qualities as a striker and he would be very useful for us in the nearest future.
“We are following his progress in Germany and we hope he gets more game time so that we can assess him well,” Agali revealed.
Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, and Joshua Maja are some of the other young striking options available and according to Agali, there is room for more.
