Spanish giants Real Madrid have suffered a major injury blow following Ferland Mendy's muscle injury and is likely to miss Wednesday's clash against Osasuna.
Mendy joined the Los Blancos in the summer following a £49million move from Lyon in the summer. And the Frenchman has been plagued with injuries since then featuring just twice for Zinedine Zidane’s side. And now it’s been confirmed by the club that the France international has picked up a thigh strain.
"Following tests carried out today on Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he was has been diagnosed with an abductor muscle injury in his left leg," a statement read.
"His recovery will be assessed."
